How You Can Help
You can help by donating your unused, unneeded, and in-date insulin and other diabetes supplies. These items need to be packaged and shipped to an Insulin for Life facility. From here, the contents will be processed and shipped out to children around the world. Please see below for Items Accepted, Conditions, Packaging, and Shipping. If you don't have access to diabetes supplies, you can help by donating to our cause. Simply click the PayPal button on the left (coming soon). Any amount is appreciated. Thank you for your interest and remember, you are keeping these children alive.
Items Accepted
- Insulin
- Glucose Test Strips
- Ketone strips
- Unused Meters
Conditions
All supplies must be unopened and unused with at least 5 months before their expiration date. We can accept new meters, but not those that have been used, even once.
Packaging
IFL recommends packaging supplies in a padded (e.g. bubble wrap) mail bag or envelope. If shipping insulin during hot weather we ask that you please include a cool pack. Although insulin is usually shipped out in Styrofoam containers with cool packs, Insulin for Life has found that it is usually fine in a padded box or envelope as long as it is sensibly packaged and a cool pack is included during the summer.
Shipping
All supplies should be shipped to our IFL facility in Oklahoma (address below). We request a shipping time of no more than 4 days to help ensure that insulin is safely and quickly transported.
